yes, we do need them, sadly
joining
upon joining the site, please join with the first name of your character as your username. it's not a big deal if you don't, but it might help to keep your accounts straight. after you have activated your account, we ask that you change your name to first m. last or ask a staff member to change it for you. once that's done, you can move on to the application.
application
welcome and thank you for joining us! if you look under the application board, you will notice that there is a thread that has been stickied and locked. copy it's contents and you can start your own thread under the pending applications board. you have one week in order to finish the application, and then you have to wait for a member of staff to accept/deny it. once it's been moved to our filing cabinet, you can move on to the claims. make sure to claim everything, that way another member does not become confused and claim the face or canon that you have, because if they claim it, they will be given it, no matter how long you've been here. oh, and the codeword is bubblegum.
roleplaying
WTH prides itself with being a literate site with a PG-13 rating, as agreed when the site was created. and as with the usual rules that surround roleplaying, we do not allow god-modding or power playing. if you do not know what those are, then you are probably not a literate roleplayer, and i highly recommend that you google those terms. we do have a word count here, and we require that our members post at least 350 words, without thread templates, for their fellow roleplayers to respond to. it's incredibly frustrating when you spend two hours coming up with a 1700 word post and you get a paragraph in return. try to match the word count if you can, though we understand that everyone has off days and posts. we would also like that all posts are done in past tense, third person perspective.
characters
when creating characters, we all know that sometimes they can have a slightly cliched personality or history. that's fine, but try to be creative without going overboard and becoming unrealistic. there is no limit to the number of characters that you have, as long as you follow a couple of guidelines. first, we ask that you go for variety. for example, if you have a female singer, perhaps pick up a male model. for every two females you have, we require you to have one male, to try and keep the ratios even. the last thing anyone wants is for there to be 100 females running around and only 20 males. we also reserve the right to post activity checks each month, so if you do not register on time, then you can lose the characters you have.
and finally
have fun! this is perhaps the most important rule of all. the staff are always looking for new and exciting things to post around the site, and we need your help to add those things for everyone to enjoy. don't be afraid to post. and since you've finally made it through, there is only one more thing for you to concern yourself with. the codeword up above? it's not the right one. instead, please post the name of the ballad sung by the character fantine in the musical les miserables. i dreamed a dream. thank guys and enjoy!
xoxo welcome to hollywood staff
